B&M is poised to develop an eCommerce offering having hired Jens Sorensen as its digital director. The value retailer had originally planned to enter the eCommerce arena early last year but had then delayed, withdrawing the offer of a leadership role for the new launch from a seasoned practitioner. B&M instead recruited Sorensen from The Range in Feburary. He had held the role of chief digital and omnichannel officer at B&M’s Plymouth headquartered competitor. It is not yet known when B&M will launch its eCommerce store but it is expected that Click & Collect services will feature strongly.
