Online womenswear business Sosandar has reported a record first half as women switch from loungewear to clothes for the office and for the imminent party season. Revenues for the six months to 30 September were up by 184 per cent to £12.2m with September pulling in record revenues. Website visits rose by 67 per cent to reach six million and repeat buyer order frequency was up by 14 per cent to 3.85 times.
The business which sells direct as well as via third parties including M&S, Next and John Lewis, said that sales were up every month and that its range was “resonating very well” across all product categories. The expansion into new categories was driving increased conversion and repeat orders. Sosandar said it was well stocked for the Autumn season and was not experiencing the supply chain difficulties reported by others.
Ali Hall and Julie Lavington, co-CEOs said: “We are delighted to report another strong period for Sosandar with enhanced sales delivered across our entire product range as customers begin to return to the office and attend events. After over a year in loungewear, our customers are clearly enjoying a return to fashion. With a substantial increase delivered in active customers, repeat customers and conversion rate, we can see the benefits of our marketing strategy, broadened range and operational improvements flowing through. Our sales continue to see great growth momentum both on the Sosandar website and with our third-party partners and we are very excited about the opportunity that lies ahead for the Company.”
