Made.com has acquired homewares marketplace Trouva as it seeks to expand its online business. Trouva was founded in 2015 and uses its own proprietary technology to deliver a range of homeware lines from a number of suppliers, many of them small niche designers and manufacturers. It will continue to be operated as a standalone entity with its incumbent CEO and COO.
Trouva has a network of over 700 independent furniture and homewares businesses in Europe and has shipped to over 34 countries. It has a tech hub in Portugal which will continue to be leveraged as the integration of Trouva’s technology by Made.com proceeds to expand its own marketplace.
Nicola Thompson, CEO Made.com said: “This acquisition brings with it an experienced and talented team, a sector-leading technology platform and excellently procured choices of homeware products that will resonate with the Made target customer.”
