Wilko deal falters leaving B&M to take stores

The heralded deal for the Wilko business and 300 or so of its stores, lead by Doug Putnam, has run into difficulties over funding. This has led to B&M making an offer for up to 51 Wilko stores for around £13m which is going ahead. The location of the stores being snapped up by B&M has not been revealed.

The funds from B&M will go into keeping the remaining orders trading as administrators from PwC work towards agreeing terms with Putnam for a deal involving fewer stores and less employees.
