French Connection’s half-year results for the six months ended
31st July revealed that lessons have been learnt following
Toast’s disappointing performance with the summer ranges. A full
review of the autumn ranges and styling of the catalogue has been
undertaken to ensure that sales pick up. In a statement, Toast’s
parent French Connection said that volumes will not recover
immediately but that “next year’s summer collection and
catalogue is the focus of efforts to ensure that lost ground will
be recovered as soon as possible”. Despite its issues, the
company reinforced that Toast remains profitable.
