First-half sales at cosmetics firm The Body Shop
were €334.3 million (£275.2 million), a rise of 3.4
percent. Profit more than doubled from €6.3 million
(£5.2 million) to €13.6 million (£11.2 million),
thanks to reduction in The Body Shop’s fixed costs last
year.
Debbie Davis is the first Avon representative to
become a millionaire. Davis, who has an 8,000-strong sales team,
she turned over a cumulative £9.3 million since 2004 and
earned £1.4 million, writes the Guardian.
Although fashion retailer Zara has yet to open
its ecommerce doors, it has more “Facebook fans and more
application downloads on iTunes than any other fashion
retailer”, writes the Wall Street Journal. The article also looks

H&M.
Phone accessories etailer Mobile Fun has
reported renewed sales growth and a return to profit for the year
ending 31st March. The company posted sales of more than £7
million-a rise of 15 percent on 2009. Pretax profit was
approximately £500,000, compared with a loss of £17,000
the previous year. The online retailer attributes its recent
success to increased demand for iPhone, iPad and smartphone
accessories.
