N Brown to take more of its brands overseas


Following the successful launch of its Simply Be plus-size
womenswear title in Germany in 2009, and the recent unveiling of
Simply Be’s US catalogue and website, multicatalogue group N
Brown says it is now trialling its menswear offering
internationally.

German site SimplyBe.de has seen sales grow 50 percent
year-on-year since launch in 2009 and the company has found
expanding into the States “relatively
straightforward” says Paul Kendrick, group development
director. As a result, Kendrick says that rather than launch
Simply Be into new territories, or create more country-specific
websites, N Brown has a stable of brands its can now take
internationally.

The first of these looks likely to be menswear title Jacamo.
Kendrick says N Brown is already testing interest in menswear in
the US and in Germany through Simply Be with a view to rolling
out the Jacamo catalogue and website at a later date.
