WorldStores, the ECMOD Award-winning online
retailer, has secured funding for its next stage of growth.
Advent Venture Partners and WorldStores’ existing investor
Balderton have provided funds of £8.5 million. The
investment will allow WorldStores to expand into new categories
and develop its service offering.

CultBeauty.co.uk, an online seller of beauty
products, has closed its first round of funding led by former
Net-a-Porter finance director Murray Salmon. He
is partnered on the board by fellow Net-a-Porter alumnus, former
chief operating officer Mark Quinn-Newall. Cult Beauty was
launched in 2008 by Jessice DeLuca Moore and Alexia Inge. The
London-based business has experienced a year-on-year revenue
growth of 300 percent since launch.

The Sunday Times reports that preppy apparel
retailer Jack Wills is gearing up for a sale or
float next year that could value the company at some £500
million.

Online retailer Naked Wines has relaunched its
Naked MarketPlace platform. Now, instead of multiple deals at
negotiable prices, Naked Wines will invite just one winemaker a
week to pitch its parcel of wines at a fixed price. The change
marks the conclusion of a two-month beta-testing phase.
