Adidas, Hugo Boss, LK Bennett, Nicole Farhi and Superdry have all
signed agreements with Fits.me for the addition of virtual
fitting rooms to their online stores, in a bid to eradicate the
growing problem of returns.
Heikki Haldre, founder and chief executive of Fits.me, says the
lack of option to try on clothes before buying results in higher
rates of garment returns for online retailers and fixing the
problem is “becoming a priority for apparel retailers as
they see online volumes growing by 25 per cent, or in many cases
more, each year”.
Data from online clothing retailers using Fits.me, which uses
robotic mannequins to take on the exact shape and size of the
shopper to show a realistic fit, show an improvement in
conversion rates of up to 62 per cent compared to shoppers using a
traditional size chart, and a reduction in returns due to
customers buying an incorrect size of up to 77 per cent.
Fits.me’s new clients join a roster that already includes Barbour
By Mail, Boden, Ermenegildo Zegna, Gilt Group, Hawes & Curtis,
Otto, Pretty Green and Thomas Pink. They are due to launch their
virtual fitting rooms with their spring/summer collections.
