Halfords to benefit from bike repair scheme

The government has given the green light today to its delayed £25 million bike repair scheme which aims to get more consumers back on two wheels.

£50 vouchers are being used as an incentive for getting bikes overhauled and roadworthy which will, the government hopes, relieve pressure on public transport whilst improving public health.

Halfords CEO Graham Stapleton said; “As part of the scheme, our thousands of highly skilled bike mechanics will offer each cyclist a free 32-point bike check and diagnosis, which will help them decide how best to spend their voucher.”
