Iceland returns to UK ownership

Supermarket business Iceland has brought forward the completion date for its acquisition of the majority stake in its business. It had been 63 per cent owned by Brait until June this year when Iceland founder Sir Malcolm Walker and CEO Tarsem Dhaliwal agreed terms to buy the South African investor’s stake back for £115m. Iceland has now settled the balance in full, well ahead of schedule, in return for a discount of £5m.
