JD Sports & Pentland Group slammed by CMA

The Competition & Markets Authority (CMA) has fined JD Sports and its largest shareholder Pentland Group £300,000 over the closure of a Footasylum store without the regulator’s permission. The CMA said that the parties had failed to comply in certain respects with the requirements imposed on them by the initial enforcement order issued by the CMA. The takeover was blocked by the CMA in May.
