Brantano UK which entered administration in January has been partially saved via the sale by the administrators PwC of 140 stores to previous owner Alteri Investors. This has secured more than 1300 jobs. The remaining 58 Brantano stores and concessions which did not form part of the deal are continuing to trade whilst PwC seeks a buyer for them.
Alteri had acquired Brantano together with Jones the Bootmaker from Macintosh for a consideration of £12 million in October 2015 and, whilst it is business as usual at Jones, Brantano was found to be struggling.
