Word is that Amazon is looking to take on some of the Homebase stores which are being closed by new owner Hilco. It is understood that Amazon would use the stores as depots to support its one hour delivery services.
Meanwhile Hilco will close 42 Homebase stores and is considering the future for a further 70 if it proves unable to secure significant rent reductions via its CVA.
