Amazon has announced that it will no longer accept UK issued Visa credit card payments from consumers due to high merchant processing changes. The move comes into effect from January 19th 2022 and is already causing some Amazon marketplace sellers to suggest they boycott Amazon due to its own high charges to merchants. Visa has responded to Amazon’s stance by saying that Amazon ‘is threatening to restrict consumer choice and that when consumer choice is limited, nobody wins’.
