Asos is consulting with affected employees about a plan to simplify its organisational structure, which is likely to result in the elimination of around 200 jobs. The business has been under pressure for some time to reduce losses and achieve a return to profitable growth. It has already made significant progress, and this latest move will see it transfer budget to areas that can make a greater contribution.
Asos says it will mainly create new roles in software engineering and product management, which are key to its future success.
