A pop-up online store under the Best of Britain banner is featuring British cosmetics brands in the first of a series of merchandise categories in the initiative which has been established to help businesses target the Chinese consumer market. Its first eight week period has launched with brands including Cowshed, Argentum, and Fadeout on the JD eCommerce platform in China.
Kaisi Li who is deputy general manager of JD Worldwide said “Many brands and retailers in the UK do not yet know just how easy it is to sell their products online in China, and how big the potential market is.” Adding “UK-based brands no longer need to invest significant time or money registering a business in China or setting up a warehouse or supply chain, or worry about any of the other roadblocks that have often prevented brands from entering China in the past.”
Best of Britain will move on to feature mother and baby products next, with further categories planned for the future.
