Reeling from the scandal surrounding alleged malpractice within its Leicester supply chain, Boohoo has appointed Andrew Reaney as its responsible sourcing director. It is understood that a team is being put in place to tackle environmental and social governance issues.

Meanwhile, certain shareholders are demanding that CEO John Lyttle and chairman Mahmud Kamani step down from the Boohoo board in the wake of revelations about health and safety violations, cases of below minimum wages being paid as well as withheld pay, and furlough fraud within the fast-fashion giant’s UK supply chain. These matters were unearthed by Alison Levitt QC during an independent investigation into alleged employee abuse in Leicester factories known to supply Boohoo.
