Logistics services business Clipper claims to have increased its EBITA by 19 per cent to c£24 million for the year ended 30 April. The business continued to support its online retail clients after lockdown saying that volumes increased by over 100 per cent for some of them. In its trading update, Clipper compared the high levels of demand with Black Friday last year.
It also benefited by providing additional services for grocery customers Tesco, Asda and Morrisons as they experienced exceptionally high levels of demand for some products as Covid-19 began to seriously impact supply chains. In April it had also begun to deliver supply chain support for the NHS involving warehousing and distribution of PPE to hospitals, followed by the development of an online ordering portal for PPE products for GP surgeries, small care homes and home care providers.
