Australians certainly have no qualms about ordering from offshore e-tailers. According to Forrester Research, Australians spent AU$23 billion (£11.8 billion/$19.3 billion) online last year, but only 53 per cent of that sum was spent with Australian merchants.
Another stat suggesting that Australia is a market worth investigating: 89 per cent of households surveyed by Sweeney Research said that they are happy to receive catalogues in the post, and 85 per cent actually read them.
