Evri’s operating company Hermes Parcelnet Ltd has filed accounts for the 52 weeks to February 25th, ’23. The parcel carrier had generated revenue of £1,464m which was slightly down from the £1,465m generated for the previous year – despite the Royal Mail strike actions which saw many direct commerce businesses seek alternative carriers for their customer orders.
Adjusted EDITDA for the year came in at £218m which was down from £262m, and pre-tax profit at £51m as compared with the previous year’s £117m.
The business said: “Our revenue and volume performance last year was robust and we outperformed the sector, a trend which continues as we win new contracts and grow our business into new areas. We are currently experiencing record volumes – higher than at any point during Covid-19 – growing at high double digit rates and are on track for our busiest peak period in our history.
“We worked hard to support clients during the peak trading period in November and December, and through the weeks when industrial activity impacted Royal Mail. However, we recognise that during certain periods our service fell short of the high standards that we set ourselves, due to an unprecedented combination of circumstances.”
