Online secret-sales website vente-privee.com will launch a
website for customers in the Netherlands in 2011. The news was
announced as the company reported a gross turnover of £823.7
million ($1.31 billion) for 2010, representing a 15 percent
year-on-year increase.
Vente-privee’s French business still contributes the majority of
sales, generating £676 million ($1.07 billion). The Spanish
site delivered the second-highest turnover with £63.4
million ($101.0 million), up 34 percent. It was followed by
Germany with £60.3 million ($95.8 million), a rise of 33
percent, and Italy, which increased sales by 64 percent to
£17.9 million ($28.4 million). The UK business accounted for
£6.4 million ($10.2 billion), having grown 114 percent
during the year.
For 2011, the company forecasts a turnover of £940 million
($1.49 billion), representing a year-on-year increase of 14
percent.
