Littlewoods.com partnered with its celebrity “brand
ambassador” Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen to broadcast a live and
interactive TV show via Facebook and on mobile devices. The show
was broadcast on Wednesday, 13th June featuring Llewelyn-Bowen’s
new autumn/winter 12 collection.
The broadcast also included four advert breaks, featuring a
variety of products from across the Littlewoods.com home and
living and electrical ranges. Dot.talent, which specialises in
commercialising branded content within social media channels, was
commissioned to produce the format.
Gary Kibble, brand director for Littlewoods.com says the Facebook
TV format is a “UK retail first” and hopes the social
network will be a way for the company to connect regularly with
its 113,000 fans, “enabling both existing and new customers
to browse and shop with us via a new and exciting
platform”.
Following the live broadcast, parent company Shop Direct Group
said it is exploring the possibility of rolling out Facebook
programming to its other brands including Very.co.uk and
Isme.com.
