Farfetch to form JV company with Clipper

Farfetch and Clipper are set to build on their relationship with the formation of a 50/50  joint venture company that will support the eCommerce fulfilment requirement of luxury brands. It will draw on Clipper’s expertise in end-to-end logistics and technology, combined with carrier and duty management systems, as well as deep luxury market experience, from Farfetch.

The new company which will support the requirements of the Farfetch Group itself, as well as service other luxury brands, is expected to launch early in 2022.

Luis Teixeira, chief operations officer, Farfetch commented: “We’ve had a very successful relationship with Clipper for a number of years and are delighted to take this opportunity, creating a dedicated logistics offering for luxury brands. We believe there is a gap with respect to the very specific value-added services required for high-end brands and boutiques, including being able to handle logistics consistently through one global offering, and provide solutions for high value goods such as watches and fine jewellery.”
