Fetchify unveils new Address Validation App for Shopify to combat failed deliveries

Fetchify has launched a new address validation app for Shopify retailers to reduce the problem of failed deliveries due to incorrect address data. Failed deliveries cost retailers over £1.6 billion every year with the average cost of replacing a lost parcel at £123.61 – factoring in replacement product, calls to customer services, administration costs, plus the general bad will that results from customers not getting what they ordered.

Address Check and Validation by Fetchify can be installed in seconds. The app checks validates and fixes customer shipping addresses using Fetchify’s UK and International address lookup, reducing address errors and repeat shipping costs.

UK-based Fetchify, a leading SaaS provider of address and data validation tools, has addressed a road-block in the eCommerce giant Shopify’s checkout flow with their new address validation app.

To crackdown on malicious code and improve platform security, Shopify recently removed all access to its shopping cart functionality (for Basic, Standard and Advanced Subscription merchants) meaning hundreds of thousands of merchants worldwide being unable to validate customer shipping addresses during checkout, resulting in inaccurate address entry with the knock-on effect of additional customer complaints, missing shipments and increased costs.

The app offers end-customers a best-match validated and correctly formatted alternative address when they land on the order confirmation page, removing typos and inaccuracies from their shipping address helping to ensure their order is delivered first time and that merchants don’t spend valuable time contacting customers for correct addresses before shipping out orders.

Fetchify CEO, Russell Jones said, “We’ve always said that a great UX is one that no one notices, and our new app does that for both merchants and consumers. With the current growth in eCommerce, it’s an essential tool for all Shopify store owners. We have been working on this from the moment Shopify announced their restrictions in order to help retailers avoid disruption and potentially higher shipping and return costs due to inaccurate address information.”
