All of Gerry Weber’s stores, some 26, are to be closed by the end of October. The German fashion brand will instead focus on its wholesale business in the UK and is also closing around 200 stores in its home market as well as in other European countries. This forms part of its restructuring and has enabled the business to secure new investment of c£44 million to turn it around.
Gerry Weber is one of a number of mid-market womenswear brands to struggle in the wake of slowing demand.
