Gieves and Hawkes unveils digital window display

Gieves & Hawkes, recently cemented its position as a global luxury brand, opening a concession in a world-leading London department store. A custom window display further enhanced the brand’s presence in store, incorporating digital screen technology to show a short film created for the Autumn/Winter 14 season and shot by filmmaker Eddie Wrey. This was blended with the more traditional window display elements for a more contemporary approach that still demonstrates the core brand values. The video wall solution enables Gieves & Hawkes to manage the flow of content on the screen and change it remotely, which is of crucial importance given the prime location of the technology.

Sam Thompson, IT Manager UK for Gieves & Hawkes commented, “We have experimented with digital signage before but this is the first time we have implemented a complete solution. AVMI were able to take this simple yet effective approach and work quickly, turning the initial vision into a reality. We have been able to incorporate this digital element in a way that blends with the traditional design yet brings our retail estate in line with more modern consumers.”

Gieves & Hawkes was established in the 18th century and has dressed some of the world’s most influential men; Admiral Lord Nelson, The Duke of Wellington, Sir Winston Churchill, Charlie Chaplin, Bill Clinton and David Beckham among a roll call of legendary names. Holders of all three Royal warrants, the House is honoured to serve the British Royal Family, military and civilian clients from all over the world. Headquartered at No.1 Savile Row, the company’s historic, fabled townhouse in the heart of Mayfair, Gieves & Hawkes is now also available at Harrods (London), Bergdorf Goodman (New York) and Isetan (Tokyo) as well as at flagship locations in Hong Kong and China.
