According to Sky News, Halfords has emerged as a bidder for the Evans Cycles 60 store chain and online business. EC2i Partners is seeking a buyer who can invest at least £10 million in new capital to enable the struggling business to better compete. In addition to its own retail chain, Halfords owns store business Cycle Republic, a competitor to Evans.
