The Telegraph reports that restructuring specialist Hilco is
today expected to sign an agreement to acquire around 130 HMV-branded stores
and nine outlets that trade under the Fopp brand for £50 million, saving 2,500
jobs. The piece also notes that music companies and film studios have agreed
new supply terms with HMV and are backing the deal. The entertainment retailer
will now be run by a combination of current HMV and newly-appointed Hilco
executives.
