Models and collectibles specialist Hornby is on the hunt for
a new chief executive after announcing the retirement of Frank Martin. Martin
will stay on until June 2014 to ensure a smooth handover. To manage the
recruitment process, chairman Roger Canham steps into an executive role.
Further, following a review of the wider internal management structure, there
will also be a restructuring of the senior team below the board level. Hornby
has had a challenging year, which saw it issue a profit warning after
lower-than-expected sales of Olympics products. However, Canham says the
business is now in more “stable shape” with an improving supply chain.
