The inurface group has announced its ambition to bring experiential retail to the high street, with the acquisitions of interactive technology brand We Are Interact and technology platform EventsTag.
The company says it plans to help retailers transform their traditional brick and mortar stores into experiential hotspots for consumers to interact with brands.
We Are Interacts’ CEO Dan Strang will stay on within the business and run We Are Interact alongside inurface’s CEO Josh Bunce (left).
inurface Media, launched in 2012, is an end-to-end digital signage solutions provider who has worked with New Look, Boots and Dr. Martens, among others. We Are Interact brings its specially developed software platform to the group, as well as experience of a number of large-scale events.
The companies have worked together previously on projects, including installs within Sports Direct flagship store and Chelsea Football Club.
While the acquisition will offer a new combined focus on the retail market, the company says that We Are Interact will continue to separately service large-scale events and attractions; as and when this becomes possible again.
Meanwhile the team at EventsTag will continue to work closely with experiential agencies and brands to create photo experiences, manage visitor interactions and collect data around live events.
inurface CEO Josh Bunce said: “I am excited to get to work with the We Are Interact team to build, together, a retail offering we believe will be both stronger than ever and unique in its field.
“It’s been an incredibly challenging year for retail and we are excited to work with our clients to support their return to strength with exciting, innovative and interactive displays that will stand out to consumers as they return, safely, to our shops.”
