JD Sports has released its first half results which show a 66 per cent increase in its pre-tax profits for the 26 weeks to July. Sales grew by 20 per cent to reach £970.6 million. The retailer operates around 900 UK stores and is expanding operations in Europe, as well as in Australia where it recently acquired Next Athleisure as a starting point. The business is also being linked with the potential acquisition of Go Outdoors.
