John Lewis Partnership to cut HQ jobs

Amidst toughening trade conditions along with its recently posted loss, John Lewis Partnership has announced plans for comprehensive head office restructuring and a consolidation of its management. The move has already spurred the resignation of Waitrose managing director Rob Collins who will leave the group on good terms in January. This paves the way for the formation of a new executive director team which will be responsible for the whole business. John Lewis managing director Paula Nickolds has taken the position of brand executive director and now some 75 head office roles are to be cut in order to reduce costs. Other changes in progress include the move to sharing a common IT and supply chain platform.
