Joules to float in June

The founder of multichannel retailer Joules, Tom Joule, who owns 80 per cent of the company is set to achieve around £40 million when a proportion of his shares together with those held by LDC are offered on London’s AIM in June. Joules started out in 1989 and has grown steadily as it migrated from reliance on selling at country shows to entering the wholesale arena, direct to consumer mail order and online sales, whilst developing a chain of stores which currently stands at 98. With sales exceeding £100 million, the brand has also found favour in the USA and Germany and has its sights set on Japan, China and the Middle East. Colin Porter, Joules’ chief executive commented “Joules has enjoyed strong, consistent growth developing into a much-loved fun, family, ‘time-off’ lifestyle brand it is today. We have a clear strategy to develop the brand further and we see real potential for continued growth across channels both in our core UK market and internationally.”
