Lakeland’s Martin Rayner announces his retirement

News comes this week that Martin Rayner is set to retire
from his day to day in the buying team of the Lakeland Limited business. He
will, however, remain as a co-owner, member of the board, director and
shareholder alongside his brothers Sam and Julian. Lakeland was originally
founded in 1964 by the father of the three Rayner brothers and between them
they have transformed it from a low key mail order seller of freezer bags into
a leading kitchen and homewares brand, underpinned by its catalogues and
websites, including a German site, plus a 67 strong store UK retail chain, with
additional outlets in the Middle East.
