Melin Tregwynt transfers to employee ownership

Historic woollen mill and retailer Melin Tregwynt has been transferred into employee ownership through a trust which gives its 42 staff a stake in the business. Established in 1912, it has been operated by Eifion and Amanda Griffiths, who inherited the business and will remain involved part-time.

Melin Tregwynt weaves woollen fabrics and blankets using traditional processes and has created ranges for retailers including Liberty, Heals’, and John Lewis. It also retails via its own shop at the mill and sells online.
