Mike Ashley’s attempts to secure a seat on the board of Mulberry have been rebuffed. Ashley has expressed concern over Mulberry’s underperforming Asian market activity which is managed in partnership with Singapore business Challice, a business connected to its majority shareholder.
Frasers Group owns a 38.6 per cent stake in the luxury leather goods business, with the majority owned by Malaysian billionaire Ong Beng Seng and his wife Christina.
