Neil Gillis joins Blacks Leisure Group as chief executive

He succeeds Russell Hardy who left in the summer following a
profits warning issued by the outdoor and boardwear retailer. The
new chief is expected to turn the business around and placate
main shareholder, Sports Direct’s Mike Ashley, who had threatened
to remove the entire board of directors of Blacks Leisure appoint
a new board of his choosing. Ashley’s actions came after Blacks
mooted a sale of its surfwear chain Freespirit.
