Flying Brands has won a contract with
Debenhams to provide the department-store chain
with a wedding flowers service. Flying Brands chief executive
Stephen Cook said in a statement that the deal is “an
important step in the evolution of its flowers business”
and hopes this is the first “of a series of
partnerships”.
Argos is trialling new products to extend its
reach into new categories. The autumn/winter catalogue, launched
later this year, will feature children’s clothing and gifts
“leveraging its market-leading toy licence
relationships”, said a company statement. Argos will also
start selling books online, with an initial range of
approximately 5,000 titles. More product categories will be added
during the next financial year. It has also opened up the Argos
website to third parties, with Argos receiving a commission on
each sale.
