Delivered diet company Diet Chef has entered The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 at number three, following growth of 229 percent from an annualised £334,000 in 2008 to £11.9 million in 2011. To date, Diet Chef has received £4 million investment from private equity firm Piper. The funds have enabled the business to expand into Germany earlier this year, where Diet Chef now generates more than £1 million in sales. Another direct seller in the top ten is Notonthehighstreet.com, which has grown 155 percent-from £913,000 in 2007 to £15.1 million in 2010 to reach 9th position in the table. Footwear retailer Clarks has launched a mobile commerce site, designed and built by Mobile Interactive Group (MIG). Clarks’ first ever mobile site is fully transactional and carries the complete Clarks range.

Donald Russell, a leading mail order meat supplier, has replatformed and redesigned its online shop. The new website is designed and developed by Screen Pages using Magento. Online sales at Donald Russell have been growing strongly, approaching £10 million per annum with an average conversion ratio of 10 percent.

Ten percent of online sales are now made by click and collect, an industry trade body has found. According to the IMRG Capgemini Quarterly Benchmarking Index, one in ten sales during the third quarter was made by customers ordering online for in-store pick-up. This is up from 7.4 percent in the previous quarter, making it the strongest quarterly gain in the seven quarters that
