Easylife Group, a cataloguer of homewares,
fitness products and living aids, has been admonished by the
Advertising Standards Authority for a misleading advert. A
complaint was upheld that its copy for the EasyCap Video Grabber
had exaggerated the product’s ease of use. What’s more, when
initially advertised, the item came without connecting cables and
required additional equipment in order for it to work as
described. Easylife was instructed not the run the ad again on
the grounds that it breached the substantiation and truthfulness
clauses of the advertising code.
