Otto-owned Quelle has launched
an online marketplace enabling retailers and manufacturers to
sell their consumer electronics and homewares directly to
customers. Quelle will handle payment processing and customer
services and customers are billed via a single shopping cart.
Using a direct-despatch model, the retailers will be responsible
for shipping. In the year ending 28th February 2011, online
revenue at Otto grew by 25 percent from €3.8 billion
(£3.7 billion) to €4.8 billion(£4.2 billion)
worldwide.

Midlands newspaper the Express & Star reports that furniture
retailer Walmsley has gone into administration.
Trade publication The Furnishing Report writes that the
business and assets were subsequently sold to a new
company.

Cosmetics company Urban Decay has relaunched its
website on the Demandware ecommerce platform to support its
growth in its native US and internationally. The site integrates
with Bazaarvoice for ratings and reviews, Paypal for regular and
express checkout payments and Avalara for tax integration.
Several more integrations are planned as the company expands
internationally. In addition the retailer is also adding a
mobile-optimised website.
