Next has reported better than expected full price sales for the Christmas period. Its online sales rose by 13.6 per cent for the 54 days to December 24th with store sales falling by 6.1 per cent with the cold weather impacting both, positively for online, negatively for stores.
The business has upgraded its profit guidance to between £718 million and £732 million whilst conceding that many of the challenging conditions of the past year are likely to continue to impact the current year.
