Boca Raton, FL-based Office Depot reported 2009 sales of $12.1
billion (£10.5 billion), down 16 percent on the previous
year. In its international division, which includes the UK’s
Viking Direct catalogue business, sales also declined 16 percent
(or 9 percent in local currency) from $4.24 billion to $3.55
billion.
However, the sales in international division rose 2 percent in
the fourth quarter to $982 million, an increase of 2 percent
compared with the same period last year. In local currency,
international fourth-quarter sales declined 6 percent.
