Good
news from out-of-town homewares chain Dunelm, which in its interim results for the 26 weeks to 29th
December, posted a 13.4 percent growth in revenues, to £340.1 million.
Operating profit grew 14.5 percent to £59.3 million compared with
the same time the previous year. Sales from Dunelm’s websites continued to grow
strongly during the period and now represent approximately 4 percent of
revenues. Since launching the mobile-optimised version of its website in early
2012, Dunelm says it’s seen traffic from smartphones grow “so that it now
accounts for 15 percent of our online visits”.
