As reported by us earlier this month, Publicis Groupe has moved in on Epsilon and has made an offer understood to be of the order of US $4.4bn for its entire operations. Epsilon generated $2.2bn in revenues last year and would provide Publicis with a strong position in data and targeted marketing solutions to complement its traditional advertising strengths.
“Our clients are facing increasing pressure from the rise in consumer expectations, the mainstreaming of direct-to-consumer brands and new data regulations,” said Publicis Groupe CEO Arthur Sadoun in a statement. “The only response is to deliver personalised experiences at scale. They have to transform to meet this new market imperative.”
