Rationalisation at Lands’ End

Focused on streamlining the business, Dodgeville, Wisconsin-based
apparel cataloguer Lands’ End is in consultation with employees
regarding a proposal to adopt a global brand management
structure. The restructure will see Lands’ End centralise
catalogue production at its US headquarters, affecting
approximately 20 UK jobs. Around 60 positions are impacted
globally across Lands’ End’s operations in Germany, Japan, the
UK, and the US.

The changes at Lands’ End come as the business prepares itself
for international growth: “We already have a very
successful business in UK and Germany and have recently piloted
in Austria and France,” says Tim Curtis, Lands’ End
managing director, Northern Europe. “We will build on this
in 2010, expanding our product range for the UK and Germany to
include more children’s and menswear, rolling out new categories
in France and Austria, and piloting a further two European
countries.” To facilitate this, Lands’ End will be
recruiting buyers and merchandisers in the UK.
