Apparel cataloguer La Redoute may cut as many as 250 jobs as part
of a restructure of its French operations. The business has
embarked on an “HR project” to support the
reorganisation of its business model to a more modern and
web-focused operation, which it has dubbed “100 percent
web, 100 percent fashion”.
Although she would not verify the number of potential job losses,
a La Redoute spokeswoman confirmed the business was undergoing a
three-year employment and skills project that will see some of La
Redoute’s employees move internally within the Redcats Group,
take voluntary redundancy or early retirement, or go part-time.
The restructure currently affects only the French division of La
Redoute and no UK redundancies have been planned.
