River Island has extended its contract with Yodel for a further three years. Operating from over 300 stores around the world and with a strong online presence, River Island is one of the leading retailers on the High Street. It has worked with Yodel on its UK deliveries since 2008 and will use the carrier’s 24, 48 and 72 hour services. These include online tracking, SMS and email alerts for customers as well as access to customer service operatives on webchat, ‘phone and social media. The retailer will also continue to use CollectPlus, Yodel’s joint venture with PayPoint, to allow consumers to collect and return orders via local convenient outlets like newsagents and petrol stations.
Commenting, Arif Ahmed, logistics director at River Island said, “We have been working with Yodel for six years and have been impressed with the partnership approach, service innovation, and focus on customer service that they provide. For us it is important to enable our customers to order late into the evening and receive their goods in time for an event the very next day. Yodel’s agreement to accept later deliveries into their sort centre means that we can now take orders up until 9pm and still offer delivery within 24 hours.”
