River Island is the latest fashion retailer to announce a shake-up of its store staffing. It says it will be targeting cuts in store management and senior sales functions, affecting around 350 employees. This follows its earlier cull of 250 head office roles.
Consultation is underway with employees.
The business cites Covid-19 as the cause, saying that customer numbers have fallen significantly since it re-opened stores after the lockdown restriction was lifted.
